The story of the American helmet comes to life. The successful book Allies is released as an audiobook with a star-studded cast

Last year's celebrations of the liberation of Pilsen brought a literary hit in the form of the book Allies by author Tereza Marianová. The book, which was published by Luxor Publishing House on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, immediately won the hearts of readers and, thanks to great interest, has already seen its second edition. Now this engaging story is also coming to life in audio form. Under the direction of the director, the characters were brought to life by well-known actors David Novotný and Petr Čtvrtníček, accompanied by Tereza Dohnalová and the author Tereza Marianová herself. In addition, the publishing house has prepared a special gift for visitors to this year's Liberation Festival in the form of a special price for downloading the audiobook for the entire duration of the celebrations. The plot takes us to 1984, when ten-year-old František finds a secret in the form of an old American helmet in the attic. At a time when the role of the American army in the liberation of Western Bohemia had to be kept quiet, his grandfather Bohumil decides that it is time to tell his grandson the truth. The audiobook offers a unique atmosphere of the first post-war days captured in the memories of an eyewitness. It is a story about two boys who, although separated by half a century, are united by a common history and a desire for the truth. Together with František, listeners will learn whether there were real cowboys in the American army and why their heroism was not allowed to be talked about for many years.
