Harry Humason and Howard Arnold Strauch, who fought in World War II in Europe, visited Pilsen. As part of a several-day private trip co-organized  by historian and journalist Jiří Klůc, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, they laid flowers at the “Thank You, America!” memorial, where they also received artwork and thank-you notes from students of three Pilsen elementary schools: Beneš Elementary School, the 21st and 25th Elementary Schools Pilsen.
