Original design and local delicacies dominated the center of Pilsen during the celebrations
This year's liberation celebrations offered not only military history, but also a rich accompanying program in the very heart of the city. During the first weekend of May, Smetana's orchards and the area near Branka became the scene of popular markets that attracted hundreds of visitors. Friday, May 1st, was the seventh annual Slow Market. This craft and design market transformed part of the orchards into an oasis of original Czech creation. Visitors could view and purchase products from domestic designers that are not easily found in regular stores, from stylish household accessories to unique gifts. The entire event was accompanied by a relaxed atmosphere, the smell of good food and the laughter of children. They had fun at traditional attractions from the workshop of the woodcarver Matěj, which included a hand-carved carousel, the popular "goat taxi" or a ball track. On Saturday, May 2nd, the baton was taken over by farmers' markets, which brought the flavors and aromas of the region to the center. The space was enlivened by stands with fresh produce from local growers and producers, ideally complementing the ongoing celebrations in the central part of the city.
