LIBÉ RTY Stage will offer contemporary music and inspiring debates directed by the Memory of the Nation
The area near Lokál pod Velkým divadlem will transform into a vibrant center of contemporary culture on Friday, May 1, 2026. LIBÉ RTY Stage, prepared by the organization Paměť národa in cooperation with the city of Pilsen, will offer visitors to the Liberation Festival a free, all-day program. This zone uniquely connects the current music scene with deeper social themes and creates a space for generations to meet in the very heart of the city.
The program will start at 3 p.m. with a discussion entitled "How much does freedom cost? Are we willing to bear this price?". Inspiring guests from the national and regional scene will open a debate on what freedom means to us in today's world and what sacrifices we are prepared to make to preserve it. After this reflection, music will take over the stage. The first to perform will be the recent winners of the Múza competition, the indie-rock trio The Polar Opposites from Mariánské Lázně, who, in addition to their energetic work, will also offer a taste of their upcoming debut EP.
The early evening atmosphere will be stirred up by the West Bohemian formation Steven’s led by Štěpán Kordík. The band, which won the Czech Blues Challenge, will bring a fusion of blues, rock and traditional R&B strongly inspired by American musical roots. As the sun sets, the stage will harden and become more serious thanks to the band Holy Fanda & The Reverends. Their performance promises emotional “Americana” with strong narrative lyrics and the fresh sound of banjo, trumpet or organ. The highlight of the evening will be a concert by the Prague indie-pop band WYFE. Experienced musicians from the Czech club scene will present songs from their current album Perfectly Ordinary and end Friday’s program with a modern rhythm.
