Flyovers by military historic aircraft were part of the opening ceremony
After the impressive parachute jumps, historic military aircraft flew over the area behind the SC Plaza, which became part of the opening ceremony of the Liberation Festival. Iconic aircraft such as the P-51D Mustang, Harvard Mk. II, Stinson AT-19B Reliant and Boeing Stearman Model 75 were gradually introduced, symbolically commemorating the aviation history of World War II and the courage of the pilots of that time. The British liaison aircraft Auster Mk. V, manufactured in 1945, had its premiere in Pilsen. It began its service in August of that year with the Royal Air Force, where it operated until November 1953. Dynamic flyovers of historic aircraft offered spectators a unique view of the technology that has become indelibly inscribed in the history of the fight for freedom. The photo gallery captures the moments of this exceptional spectacle.
