Military camps behind the SC Plzeň Plaza welcome first visitors
The spaces behind the Plaza Plzeň shopping center come alive with a unique atmosphere at these times. The park has been transformed into a large military camp, where visitors can get a close look at the daily life of soldiers. The gates of the historical camps offer a view not only of the shiny equipment, but also of the real fates of Czechoslovak fighters from the Western Front. The main attraction is the exhibition of the Czechoslovak Independent Armored Brigade. You will learn about the history of the unit that became famous at Dunkirk right on site, and you will see authentic field workshops, an infirmary or a period kitchen. The entire space is complemented by dynamic training demonstrations, commented tours and regular shooting that will draw you right into the action. Families with children will also enjoy themselves, for whom a special track has been prepared for young recruits with a small reward, while those interested in history can admire a display of period civilian and military clothing. In the immediate vicinity, a campsite dedicated to the British Royal Air Force has been built. This area is dominated by an impressive replica of a Supermarine Spitfire fighter jet in the colours of legendary pilot Otto Smik. In addition to the iconic aircraft, you can take a look inside the military airfields and learn more about the important role of the women's auxiliary corps. The military campsites behind the Plaza are ready for you throughout the weekend - today and Saturday until 8 pm, and on Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm.
