Jannace Anthony E.

Anthony E. Jannace was born on December 12, 1919.

During World War II, Anthony Jannace served with the rank of Private First Class in the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, as a demolition specialist. He served with the 2nd Infantry Division throughout the war from his training in the United States until his return home. He participated in all five combat campaigns of the 2nd Infantry Division, fighting in Normandy, Northern France, the Battle of the Bulge, Germany and Central Europe. President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, awarded members of the 2nd Engineer Battalion the Presidential Citation for their actions during the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war, Anthony was stationed with the 2nd Engineer Battalion in Pilsen. After the war, Anthony returned home but served another 30 years on active duty and in the United States Army Reserves.

Anthony E. Jannace died on October 4, 1983 at the age of 63 and is buried in Calverton National Cemetery, New York State.
