Taxmeni

Taxmeni are among the legends of Czech country and tramp music. The band was formed in 1970 around singer, bandleader and songwriter Jaroslav Čvančara and over the decades has built a solid place on the domestic music scene. The group's music is based on American country, bluegrass and tramp traditions, which Taxmeni enriched with their own original songs and the characteristic sound of acoustic instruments. Typical are polyphonic vocals, distinctive melodies and lyrics inspired by history, nature and adventure stories. The band also became famous for thematic songs dedicated to the history of the American West and Native American culture, which are part of its most famous repertoire. Taxmeni have released a number of albums and have been performing at festivals, tramp potlaches and country stages throughout the Czech Republic for many years. Thanks to their long tradition, distinctive style, and loyal audience, Taxmeni is still one of the prominent and respected names on the Czech country scene.
