COP

COP is one of the most prominent Czech bands playing modern bluegrass and country. The band was formed in the early 1980s around singer and guitarist Míša Leicht and gradually built a solid place on the domestic folk and bluegrass scene. COP's music is based on traditional American bluegrass, but at the same time naturally connects it with the Czech folk tradition. The band's typical feature is expressive singing, polyphonic vocals and virtuoso acoustic instruments - especially guitar, mandolin, banjo, violin and double bass.

During its long career, the band has performed at the most important Czech festivals and club stages and has gained an audience not only among bluegrass fans, but also among the wider folk scene. COP's concerts are known for their energetic atmosphere, musicianship and unique humor.

The group's repertoire includes both original compositions and arrangements of traditional bluegrass songs. COP has released several albums and is still one of the active and respected bands of Czech acoustic music.
