Happy heavenly 97th birthday to Calvin George Streza, WWII veteran, member of the 16th Armored Division, who participated in the liberation the city of Pilsen and southwestern Bohemia. Calvin passed away on September 10th 1995. Lest we forget! Čest jeho památce, nikdy nezapomeneme!

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of the liberator of Pilsen and Southwestern Bohemia, the member of the famous 16th Armored Division, Robert Chiarizia who would turn 100 this year. SIR, we will never forget!!!

Štandera was born on 5 October 1918. In 1936, he enlisted in the Czechoslovak Air Force and became an air force pilot after completing aviation school. He fled from Czechoslovakia to France in 1939 following the German invasion and occupation of the country.
