A monument to Earl Ingram, liberator of southwestern Bohemia, was unveiled in Kříše in the presence of the Ingram family
A monument to Earl Ingram, liberator of southwestern Bohemia, was unveiled in Kříše in the presence of the Ingram family and a large crowd of people.
Earl Ingram II (son of Earl Ingram) attended the ceremony with his wife Rebecca, as did Chase Ingram (great grandson of Earl Ingram) with his wife Kaylynn.
The Military Car Club Plzeň initiated the creation of the monument.
The uniqueness of this event was underscored by the participation of the Bishop of Plzeň, Monsignor Tomáš Holub, who blessed the monument and led a communal prayer.
At the end of his speech, Earl Ingram II added:
„…Who can say how our being gathered at this place today, experiencing this simple ceremony and reflecting briefly about someone who happened to be here 80 years ago, will affect our lives or the lives we touch in the future?
As you mark his presence here 80 years ago you are bestowing the highest honor you could on him, not just as a soldier, but as a person. A person who felt genuine affection for his friends here in Pilsen. For this my family is profoundly grateful… “
