Gerling Warren Chris

Warren Chris Gerling served with the 97th Infantry Division, 303rd Infantry Regiment, Company K.

He was born November 2, 1923 in New Haven, Franklin County, Missouri. He enlisted in the Army on March 7, 1943. He arrived in France in February 1945, then advanced through Germany. He was killed on May 2, 1945 during the fighting in Cheb.

He is buried in Saint Peter Cemetery in New Haven. His name is listed on the 97th Infantry Division monument in Cheb.
