Duncan James
James H. Duncan Sr. was born in 1925 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States of America. He served as a sergeant in the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, United States Army from 1944 to 1945. He went through the Battle of the Bulge, crossed the Rhine with his unit, and participated in the capture of Leipzig at the end of the German campaign of the 38th Regiment. He also participated in the occupation of western Bohemia and the liberation of Domažlice and Pilsen. He also captured his adventures in Europe as a photographer, producing a number of unique images. After returning to the United States, he attended university and then worked in the banking industry. At the time of the interview (2013), he was living in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the United States and had raised seven children. James H. Duncan died on April 1, 2022.
